Our priorities

Progress you can feel
in everyday life.

A growing tax base and new investment should improve life for the people already here. These are Gary’s priorities for Danville’s next chapter.

Affordability

Lower the pressure on working families.

  • Pursue practical relief on local taxes and fees.
  • Oppose utility cost increases that put unnecessary pressure on families.
  • Support energy efficiency and other ways to lower household costs.
Housing

A place to live. A chance to stay.

  • Encourage more homes and apartments, including affordable housing options.
  • Strengthen tenant protections and pursue a Tenants’ Bill of Rights within the city’s authority.
  • Improve shelter resources and services for neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Safety

Safe streets are for everyone.

  • Prioritize sidewalks, safer crossings, and accessible routes for people with disabilities.
  • Connect pedestrian safety with access to jobs, schools, stores, and transit.
  • Support police and firefighters with facilities, equipment, and resources.
Jobs

Connect growth to local opportunity.

  • Recruit good-paying jobs and industries that broaden the local economy.
  • Support career and technical education and workforce training.
  • Help residents access the opportunities created by Danville’s growth.
Education

Open doors for our children.

  • Invest in school facilities and strong learning environments.
  • Support teachers and the resources they need to help students succeed.
  • Value extracurricular activities, technical education, and hands-on career pathways.
Retirees

Service deserves lasting respect.

  • Support a yearly cost-of-living allowance for retired city employees tied to inflation.
  • Recognize the workers who kept Danville running through its hardest years.
  • Make sure retirees can share in the progress they helped build.
Responsible stewardship

Build progress that lasts.

Gary supports thoughtful decisions about city revenue, essential services, and long-term commitments. Major investments should come with a clear plan for how the city will maintain and sustain them.

Danville’s progress should reach everyone.

Help keep experienced, compassionate leadership working for our city.
